JTB Hakim
We entered Hakim in his first liberty show since his win at halter last year. It was nice to get our little Norman Bates out for once. Hakim is an interesting horse because he loves his mother a little too much... Since he was a foal he's always been rather shy and skittish (the permanently bugged out eyes are a clue). Because of this, he didn't leave his mother's side until well on in his yearling age. Even then, he'd always come running back to her and preferred to spend most of his time with her. The first time we tried to separate them Hakim succeeded in clearing a fence that was almost 4 feet high to get back to her. Ever since that day if we show signs of taking him away from the mare and foal pastures he'll throw quite a fit.
Seeing that he's a 16h force of muscle and power, we'd prefer to just not deal with that.
Luckily, he agrees completely with going to shows and even enjoys them! As long as his mother is there when he gets back...
