Surat al-Fajr Aswan
Surat turned 2 a few days ago. He's the perfect blend of his parents. Due to his already studly attitude at his young age we'll have to move him to a pasture by himself, sadly leaving Desert without his best friend for a bit until Desert himself grows up also. When we first put him into the paddock he was a little nervous, as this was the first time he'd ever been without his friend. He began to dance across the grass, tail waving like a flag in the wind, eyes shining with the sun dancing across his chestnut body. Now that was an Arabian. I spent some of the afternoon simply lounging on the porch watching him get accustomed to the new pasture and playing with his friends across the fence. At one point he froze in the middle of the pasture, head up and ears alert. He looked like a painting. Somehow I managed to snap a photo of him in that split second, and it has become one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken.
